DOWNLOAD: Tiger High – “Why Oh Why”

Tiger High‘s drummer, Greg Roberson, was in the Reigning Sound, which is how I, or more honestly, my friend Greg, discovered them. The name winks at the University of Memphis (formerly Memphis State), in Memphis TN. Tiger High is fully versed in reverb and neo-psychedelia, 50′s and 60′s songwriting melodies, and more modern influences. The result is a fully developed and rich sound. They released their debut cassette tape (yes, really, cassette tape) ”Myth Is This,” in March, and just last week released a digital single “Riding the Wave” b/w ”Hot Black Honda.” I’ve listened to the debut album a few times through now, and like it overall; but the single, I like a little less.
